LONE RANGER
The original satellite network proved to have a large latency problem for safety
applications so we are now using only the Iridium network. The cost is more but
the response is excellent. This will be a major part of our business in 2010.
DATA LOGGERS
In early 2010 we will be trialing a GPS logger which will offer a TTFF (Time To
First Fix) on 0.2 seconds. This will enable reduction in size, weight and
battery capacity.
WIRELESS LINKS
This is an entirely new product line. The first version is a link between a
contact closure and an end device which will have a siren, serial output, relay,
etc as an activation. The range is a nominal 350 metres but this can readily be
extended by a repeater. This can be customised to suit other applications. Not
only does it have the alarm function but it has an active health check to ensure
the link is working. If the link fails an alarm is sounded. It also monitors the
battery condition of the transmitting device.
The second version is a swimming pool gate alarm. When the gate is left open, an
alarm sounds inside. As in the first device there are health checks and low
battery monitoring.
Another version is a pipe in water alarm. This is utilised in a sand quarry
where a dredge is used to take the sand through a pipe and deposit it onshore.
If the pipe sinks into the water it can lead to costly downtimes. This system
warns when the pipe sinks below the surface of the water.
CONDUCTIVITY DATA LOGGER
This logger records each second if the logger is in water. Later a user may
download all the data and see when it is dry or wet and for how long. The memory
is sufficient for 190 days of readings. This can readily be extended by
taking 2 second readings or even longer. The battery will last for longer than 1
year. It can be recharged for another deployment. This is current used to see
when a fishing net is deployed in the water.
CUSTOMISED DESIGNS
We now offer a design service for people where they have problems, but no
solutions. Download a brochure to see if we can help you.
