"Marinized" Diesels for Australian Conditions

KUBOTA BASED MARINE DIESELS

PROFESSIONALLY MARINIZED IN AUSTRALIA

FOR AUSTRALIAN CONDITIONS

WM DIESEL is the product of World renowned Kubota engine technology and common sense marine engineering using quality materials designed for the unique Australian marine environment.

Our large copra nickel heat exchangers are made to suit the warm water temperatures found around Australia and the Pacific. Johnson salt water pumps with 25mm - 1" ports transfer heat from the engine quickly and efficiently.

Quality Australian products such as Polyflex Marine Engine Mounts and Australian Bosch Alternators allow for easy parts servicing and replacements.

Hurth gearboxes in 3-1 or 2-1 with heavy duty damper plates delivery positive drive to the propeller shaft and allow shaft to free wheel in neutral.

CAV fuel filters on the engine use the standard 296 cartridge as found on the CAV B100 glass bowl primary fuel filter, used on most boats. The positioning of all service items such as oil and fuel filters - water pump and oil pump out line, at the front of the engine make for easy servicing.

The Kubota engines we use are the latest to come from Japan using a special combustion chamber allowing for very low emissions, vibration and noise levels.

Revolutionary Line, Net and Weed Cutter

Since the beginning of propeller driven vessels there has been a need to prevent propeller fouling and subsequent damage to running gear which results from line, net and weed entanglement.

In 1983 the evolution of SPURS Line, Net & Weed Cutter provided a positive solution to an age old problem.

Once a line, net or weed is caught by the propeller blades it is instantly wound to the base of the propeller where the sharp rotating spur blades sever it with each revolution and the pieces are washed away as the vessel cruises from danger.

SPURS cutter assembly is mounted on the shaft forward and adjacent to the propeller, actively cutting with each revolution of the propeller. The cutter continuously rotates protecting the propeller and work at any time the vessel is moving ether forward or reverse with no loss of speed or efficiency. Without SPURS, lines nets or weeds can damage and disable a vessel whenever spooling is caught onto the blades and shafts.

Each rotating cutter is identical in weight and perfectly balanced making potential vibration impossible. The actual cutting action is a result of a stationary held cutter blade being forced against the rotating cutter blades at the instant that a restriction occurs and the material is fed into the cutting vice.

SPURS Line Net & Weed Cutters are engineered, developed and manufactured using the latest computerised precision technology available, using hardened stainless steel. SPURS Line Cutters (shall mounted) are available for shall sizes of 3/4" to 61/2" (metric 20mm to 175mm).

Face wear surfaces separate all metal moving parts and are easily replaceable. With an annual inspection it takes only minutes to determine if replacement is necessary and for the actual procedure to be completed. The cutters are designed to last indefinitely and blade sharpening is unnecessary due to the fact that the blades automatically hone themselves as a cut is made.

SPURS are installed on over 40,000 vessels worldwide including power and sail pleasure craft, commercial fishing vessels, USCG, US Navy (including nuclear submarines), Canadian CG and RNLI.

Advantages of SPURS Line, Net & Weed Cutter are:

Can you afford a $40,000 engine rebuild, tomorrow?

More than 1/4 of all engines rebuilt are mechanically sound, but carbon fouled! What's more, these rebuilds are entirely preventable....irrespective of operating conditions.

Brisbane based company, Cost Effective Maintenance supply a "do-it-yourself" chemical that actually burns off carbon to restore glazed and carboned up engines. Prevention is also achieved, even under the most susceptible conditions, (ie when engines don't work hard, idle excessively or run cool). Called FTC Decarbonizer, it is extremely effective at removing built up carbon from combustion and exhaust spaces, including turbochargers. FTC is suitable for use in both diesel and petrol engines. Although mainly used for diesel engines, it is particularly useful in 2 stroke petrol for eliminating stale fuel problems and carbon fouling of spark plugs and exhaust ports.

CEM's manager, Brid Walker says, "We've directly saved many hundreds of customers the cost of a rebuild, and improved engine life and operating efficiency for countless others!"

"The bulk of our customers have engines that basically do not operate hard enough for long enough...they glaze or carbon up. Up to 60% of all engines fail to operate at conditions sufficient to prevent deposit formation. This means that most engines operate at less than their design efficiency."

A pair of Detroit Diesel engines in a boat were diagnosed with sticking piston rings and glazed bores, and produced enormous amounts of blue smoke. After 2-3 hrs hard work, using FTC Decarbonizer, the thick smoke disappeared, and the engines gained 200RPM at full throttle. The owner had just saved himself $40,000!

Another CEM customer had a Case 2390 tractor using 5L oil in 50 hrs. With FTC, oil consumption dropped to zero in 100 hrs!

Cost Effective Maintenance specialize in just that! They provide specialized chemicals and lubricants to maximize operating performance, reduce wear and heat build up. Showing customers how to achieve extremely long service life for machinery and vehicles is their goal and passion!

The Elima-Matic® Sanitary Pump from Versa-Matic

The Elima-Matic® Sanitary Pump has been designed to the 3A Sanitary Standards for Air or Hydraulically Driven Diaphragm Pumps for Milk and Milk Products, Number 44-01. These standards have been formulated by the International Association of Milk, Food, and Environmental Sanitarians (IAMFES), the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and the Dairy Industry Committee (DIC). The Versa-Matic 3A Sanitary Pump has been reviewed by the 3A Symbol Council and found to meet or exceed the standards set forth by these committees.

The Elima-Matic Sanitary Pump is constructed of 316 steel with a finish of 32 micro-inch or better. The sanitary pump features tri-clamp connections on both the inlet and discharge ports.

The Elima-Matic sanitary pump does not utilize any valve seats or o-rings, only a removable ball cage. The fewer parts and smooth, flow-through design will not damage the product being pumped and will allow the passage of solids up to 5/8" in diameter. The Versa-Sensa leak detection system protects the pumped product from contamination and eliminates lengthy down-time by terminating the pump action and alerting users in the event of a diaphragm failure.

Versa-Tuff® Teflon® Diaphragms from Versa-Matic

The Versa-Tuff Teflon Diaphragms are a single piece diaphragm combining the chemical resistance of Teflon with the flex life of rubber. They also have nearly three times the burst strength of ordinary Teflon overlays. This is possible because the Teflon overlay is 100% bonded to a reinforcing rubber backing, which supports the diaphragm evenly with each stroke. The Versa-Tuff is currently available in 1", 1¼" and 2" sizes. The 1¼" and 2" sizes are interchangeable with Wilden M4 and M8 pumps.
