Mount Warning


Mount Warning National Park is situated near the New South Wales and Queensland
border. The township of Murwillumbah. Mt. Warning is the core of an extinct
volcano. The Border Ranges and the Lamington Plateau which formed part
of the outer rim. It's height is 1157 metres above sea level. The walk
to the summit takes around 2 hours. The views from the summit are worth
the effort of getting there. The last 100 metres or so there's a chain
to help with the final climb. A carpark is situated at the base and a
information board which give a brief explanation of the origins of Mt.
Warning also flora and fauna that maybe encounted.
