The falls are situated in the hinterland behind the Gold Coast at Springbrook. The drive up the mountain is very pleasant. It takes about 30 minutes from the Pacfic Highway at Mudgeeraba. There is a camping ground near by if one wish to stay over night and rough it. Otherwise there are numerous guest house and cottages for hire. The actual walk is only 6 kilometres return taking in the Warringa Pool. The walk starts at the carpark and leads down to the lookouts. The walking tracks can be taken from either side of the gorge. I took the left side. As with any walk care needs to be taken as there are no safety fence and the track at times comes close to the edge. As you progress along the track Surfers Paradise can be seen in the distance. The track zig zags down the gorge into the sub tropical rainforest. As you walk along the floor of the gorge you past a small waterfall. This is a little creek you cross over at the top. Continuing along you catch your first glimpse of the base of the falls. The track brings you out at a clearing where you can view the whole 106 m of the falls.
This is the back of the Falls
The sub tropical rainforest.
Purlingbrook Falls
Purling Brook Falls is one of many falls in the Springbrook National Park. As I develop my Bushwalking page I hope to be able to bring more and more information about the areas I am walking. If I can be of any assistance for information please email me.
