Background Information

Over the course of my career I have written various papers.  I would like to share this knowledge with those who are interested.

I graduated from the University of Western Australia 1965, and have worked in St Luke’s GP Medical Group (a private general practice) since 1968.   Over this time I have gained extensive experience in medical and behavioural aspects of the mind, integrating psychiatric, psychological and spiritual aspects of counselling.

I have also been involved in community education, in areas such as Understanding Depression, and Stress Management, for over 30 years.  This education has been provided to church groups of various denominations, mental health support groups, professional organizations and community groups.

I have been associated with Pathways Counselling  (Baptist Counselling Service of Western Australia) since its inception in 1989 as Board Chairman and Acting Director from 1996.  As part of these roles, I have been involved in the training of counsellors.

I have also had involvement with ARAFMI  (Association of Relatives and Friends of the Mentally Ill) from the mid-70s as a frequent speaker at the annual Breakthrough series of public education lectures that it organises with Richmond Fellowship.  I also, on request, wrote a booklet - About Depression - as part of a series on mental health issues when there was no suitable publication available in Australia.
