White Stars are fabulous little ships. As stated in the rationale, I classify them as heavy cruisers within the GZG universe and this means, reluctantly, sacrificing capabilities such as the aerodynamic hull and fighter hangar and downgrading other aspects.
(I do feel guilty about this sometimes, and would love to see a battlecruiser or battleship sized White Star design.)
The wing and nose pulse weapons are capable of engaging multiple targets off centre, but are not very destructive, so classified as beam-2s.
The heavy nose beam is harder. It's devastating at short range, but in at least three cases the White Star opens fire at long range with the pulse weapons first. I've chosen to represent it by a battery of graser-1s, which makes the close range strafing runs that the White Stars prefer very deadly. An alternative would be a pair of beam-3s.
White Stars regularly engage fighters and co-operate well, so have a strong PDS rating and an ADFC.
