The Leady Lathe

Designed by Bruce Leadbeatter, a teacher of woodturning with 50 years experience, the Leady lathe grows with you. The lathe is supplied with two 600mm cast iron beds and extra beds simply bolt on.

The swivel head allows you to turn big bowls and helps you to turn wood the way it wants to be cut. The Leady lathe can easily turn bowls up to 700 mm dia.

The sliding head stock moves to the right so that the tool rest can be placed on the left end of the lathe, doing away with the need for an outrigger tool rest. The headstock is moved by means of a handle, not a wheel, giving quick and precise adjustment.
