Level 5 Red Sash - Shaolin Tiger Kung Fu advanced
Synopses

You have commenced the Secondary levels of Shaolin Kung Fu Australia. The techniques, flow, applications, etc. that you learn here are often considered very advanced, sometimes secrets and always very dangerous. From this point on you are required to take on a more serious, dedicated and focused aptitude towards your training. You will be introduced to the Maturity Continuum

This level focuses on Strength, Power, Force & Will, Purpose & Conviction and to illustrate a classical example you are introduced to the Patron of Chinese Kung Fu Quan Gong. From this point onwards you can choose to commence the Shaolin Kung Fu Instructor Program.

This levels Vital Points are the 'Joints' (Elbow & Knee) and of course you will be introduced to the 6th Accelerated learning Guide, and this one you will thoroughly enjoy.

Technically, we are coming much closer to the Animal Styles. But first we complete the neo-traditional kung fu techniques with the very powerful Cross Blocks and Scissor Block, traditional and modern Upper Cuts, more interesting Palms (that again in later levels morph to be very advanced Animal techniques), Short and Long Roundhouse Kick and a very dangerous Elbows and very effective knee technique.

All in all a very worthy level to complete your 'Primary' aspect of Shaolin Kung Fu and move up in to the Secondary level of your training, the Red Sash to Brown Sash levels.

  • For the 4 advanced Animal Levels you get one complete Workbook. This allows you to choose which of the Animals you wish to do first. In class, this allows us to have every advanced student focus on the same level; rotating through each level every 6 months (or so) to allow all advanced student to grade.

    advanced Combination 0022, Stone Tiger
Examples of a Stone Tiger Style Defence; a bare minimum of defence, actually just swatting aside the attack and then in for the finish.

Another classical, simple routine. Move just out of reach of the attack (exaggerated in this demo for clarity), lift their attacking hand by the elbow just slightly, as if setting them up for a low punch, than a Dragon Front Kick to the Chin, Dropping Roundhouse to the back of the knee. Use the leg to lift the stray hand into an Arm bar at the elbow.

A bit complex for the tiger, but a clear Tiger attitude. As you are being attack, you force counter attack, almost ignoring the attack. Slip in under the arm by way of a low deep dragon, horse, snake stance transition. Cum up behind, force the attacker to bend and 'tip' them flat onto the ground.
