Introduction
AQUA-RING filters are designed for use in recirculating ponds or tank systems.  Repeated passes of water through the units create an environment for nitrifying bacteria to flourish on the huge media surface area which controls ammonia and delivers a clean animal friendly environment.

The Media
The filter media is specially designed to achieve a large surface area of approximately 1,000 sq. metres per cubic metre of material and a void space of approximately 80%.  The corrugations on the media supply rigidity to the material and a minimum area for contact during the tumbling action when backwashing.  This avoids damage to the fine bacterial film covering the media.

Filter maintenance is kept low due to the design of the media backwashing system.  With the movement of a few valves, the filter dumps accumulated fish waste which if left untouched, would deprive the fish of valuable oxygen source.  Ultraviolet light equipment is necessary with the filters to give crystal clear water.  These filters have been extensively tested and when combined with ultraviolet light equipment, will give outstanding water quality.

AQUA-RING comes in three sizes:-

             Model 500 - treats up to  8,000 litres

             Model 600 - treats up to 13,000 litres

             Model 700 - treats up to 20,000 litres

These filters are external pressurised units and can be placed above or below pond water level and do not rely on gravity to return water to pond.
