Tintures / Liquid-Based Herbal Medicines
As one of its main roles, Windsor Naturopathy Clinic offers individual health and well being consultations. Using iridology diagnosis, unique personal formulas of herbs, medicinals, dietary advice and treatment regimes are prepared in accordance with iris diagnosis and photography. Also available are naturopathic herbal blends which have been tried and true for specific illnesses. The following blends of herbs can be purchased at the clinic. Some come with information leaflets on the specific illness and/or information about the formula.
Tinctures are herbs extracted using alcohol, which is a potent extractor of the medicinal elements of the plant. They preserve the herbs and are convenient to use (like cordial concentrate) because a small amount is added to water or juice. Instructions and precautions are listed on each bottle. Talk to our naturopath regarding duration of treatment prescription. Certain herbal blends may not be recommended during pregnancy, and is it wise not to mix other unprescribed forms of herbal medicines such as herb/vitamin tablets, without checking first. Dosage instructions need to be altered appropriately for body weight.

Psoriasis Tincture                                                                                               Code: PSOf
Blood cleansing, detoxifying and liver cleansing herbs are used in this mixture. It is best combined with ProPS tablets and Psoriasis cream. Tresos B multivitamin is also recommended for its incorporation of the skin repair vitamins A, C, E and zinc. The EFA omega 3 oil capsules can also be used to reduce inflammatory stages.

Acne Tincture                                                                                                     Code: ACNf
This formula detoxifies the liver and calms excessive production of sebum that blocks the pores of the skin and causes pimples. It is best used with the Acneic Clay Mask routine and the cleanser, moisturiser and spray for this skin type. The EFA capsules will also help reduce redness in this condition.

Candida Tincture                                                                                                 Code: CANf
The herbs used in this formula have researched effectiveness against systemic candida or thrush. It is best used in conjunction with a diet sheet for long term results. The candida douche or suppositories can be used when necessary.

This blend of herbs has anti-inflammatory actions. It contains Nettle for strengthening bones and cleansing blood, and Devil’s Claw recommend for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities. This formula is for long-term application, and is most effective when used with the low acid diet plan and diet sheet, in conjunction with SCF Celloids tablets and EFA Oil capsules.

Hay Fever Tincture                                                                                             Code: HAYf
This blend aims to clear nasal passages, prevent post nasal drip, soothe respiratory and eye membranes and reduce the allergic response. It is best used with the Neti pot nasal washout and the Breath Easy steam inhalation oils and diet sheet.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Blend                                                       Code: HORf
A herbal alternative, HRT Blend uses oestrogenic and hormonal balancing herbs to help reduce hot flushes, irritability, bloating, insomnia, vaginal dryness and other symptoms of menopause. It is most effective used with Proesten herbal and vitamin tablets and the oestrogen powder supplement, Isoflavone.

This potent blend of herbs is administered hourly in times of heavy menstruation until flow is diminished then ceased. It contains astringent and smooth muscle relaxant herbs. It is good to apply the Period Oil Blend at this time, directly onto the lower abdomen.

This effective combination of herbs for internal use and essential oil tummy rub is designed to reduce the dragging feeling and cramping associated with painful menstruation.

This proven formula assists in reducing high cholesterol and dangerous triglycerides over a three month period when used in conjunction with the dietary advice and the EFA capsules. This is also our best Liver Cleansing Formula.

This tincture can be used in conjunction with conventional BP tablets to lessen the effects of high blood pressure on the body. It contains circulatory antioxidants and is best used in conjunction with the Antioxidant tablets. It is intended for long term use.

This tonic is used to ease impotence and increase fertility in men. It is combined with three Australian Bush Flower Remedies.

Hormonal regulatory herbs and liver detoxifiers are combined with the Australian Bush Flower Remedy She Oak. This formula is best used over a three month period.

Digest Aid Tincture                                                                                            Code: DIGf
This formula is used for aiding digestion where there is bloating after meals, or gas, cramps or nausea. This tincture is most effective when one pays attention to chewing properly, relaxing at meal times and avoiding drinking with meals, and when used in conjunction with Slippery Elm Bark capsules.

Athlete’s Tincture                                                                                              Code: ATHf
This formula is an energy tonic that uses herbs known as adaptogens, such as Panax ginseng. This is a brilliant Chinese herb that tonifies the adrenals (stress gland) and increases well being. Athlete’s Tincture also contains St Mary’s Thistle for liver detoxification.

Insomnia Tincture                                                                                              Code: INSf
This is a sedative blend of herbs taken only at bedtime to promote restful sleep. It also contains Bach Flower Remedies to calm the active mind.

Constipation Tincture                                                                                         Code: CONf
This mixture is aimed to get things moving. Best used with the fibre recipe and Regulax powder, it is advised to also increase water consumption at this time.

Diarrhoea Tincture                                                                                             Code: DIAf
A mixture of herbs with astringent actions designed to soothe inflamed mucous membranes of the gastro-intestinal tract. Best used with Slippery Elm Bark (Matrix Support tablets) and Acidophilus yoghurt, it is also advised to maintain fluid intake and avoid spicy foods.

This potent blend of healing herbs includes Echinacea and Licorice Root for their antiviral, antibacterial qualities. Begin taking this tincture at the onset of first symptoms.

Tonsillitis Tincture                                                                                              Code: TONf
Hot but effective, this blend assists in draining these lymphatic glands and soothing inflamed mucous membranes.
