Aims of the Association


The Aims of the Men of the Trees (NSW) are to:

(1) Develop and promote the appreciation and knowledge of:

  • The value of trees and associated vegetation;

  • The ecological indispensability of biodiversity and local genetic integrity; and

  • The science of silviculture;

(2) Encourage people to become involved in:

  • The protection and maintenance of trees and remnant vegetation;

  • The propagation of trees and understorey plants;

  • The planting of indigenous species; and

  • The rehabilitation of degraded habitats and natural systems;

(3) Associate or work with any individual or group of people, or subscribe to or become a member of any organisation, whose aims are similar to those of the association;

(4) Form branches of the association wherever possible;

(5) Further the above objects by printing and publishing any leaflet, newspaper, periodical or book and by arranging television and radio broadcasting sessions and the use of other public communications media that the association may think desirable;

(6) Set up a public gift fund under the Rules of the association to be known as 'The Men Of The Trees (NSW) Public Gift Fund' for the specific purpose of furthering the above objects, subject to the fund complying with section 78AB of the 'Income Tax Assessment Act 1936' as amended; and

(7) Do all other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these objects of the association.
