Amateur Fishing License
In accordance with the Victorian Fisheries Act 1968 an Amateur Fishing License (AFL)is required to fish the inland waters of Victoria.@Persons exempted from holding a license are thoseunder the age of 16 years; licensed Master Fishermen; invalid; TPI Service, Aged and War Service Pensioneers, and people participating in recognized angling instruction cources for which a specific written exemption has been issued. Exempt persons are still required to comply with the fishing regulations.
The AFL is available from many Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) offices and more than 500 retial businesses throughout Victoria, including most retail fishing and tackle stores. The AFL is available for periods of 28 days, one year and three years.
