Synopsis:
While conducting virtual reality experiments for his doctoral thesis with his
professor, Wayne Fowler (Bruce French), 26 year-old Jack Profit (Josh
Brolin) makes a jump from Cyberspace into a real world that is a few minutes
ahead in the future. When the college board cuts off the funds for Jack's
project, Wayne contacts his billionaire friend, Bill Trenton (David Warner),
founder of a leading research firm. Realizing the power and prestige that
comes with such a discovery, Bill offers Jack a job at his firm, promising him a
state-of-the-art laboratory, handsome salary and a new Range Rover.
Jack takes the job, but doesn't tell his wife Isabelle (Kelly Rowan) about the
telemetry suit's capabilities. Before long, Bill has talked Jack into letting him
take a leap into the future. While in the future, Bill sees a newspaper headline
concerning a woman slain at an ATM. Back in the present, he arranges to
save the woman from her would-be assailant - altering the future.
Even though Bill's intentions appear to be humanitarian, he actually plans to
use the suit to help him win the Senatorial race. When he sneaks into the lab
to use the telemetry suit, he sees himself being subpoenaed after losing the
race. As he sees his political goals going up in smoke, he decides to take
matters into his own hands.
In the meantime, while Jack works the kinks out of the suit, he takes another
jump, this time leaping even further into the future. When Jack sees his own
face bloodied, sinking into the murkey ocean depths, he realizes that
something is going very wrong.
After Jack confides in Isabelle, the couple learn that the current Senator has
mysteriously died. Jack and Isabelle are certain of his boss' guilt but must get
the evidence back at the lab. Once there, Isabelle convinces Jack to take one
last jump to view future events so they can organize a plan. Once there, Jack
sees Bill about to murder him.
Back in the present, Bill and a security guard break into the lab. While Jack
makes a run for it down the stairwell, Isabelle hides in the closet. Once out of
the building, Jack races toward the edge of the pier with his boss hot on his
heels. The two men confront each other at the end of the pier, and just as he
prepares to fire a fatal shot at Jack, Isabelle, standing at the foot of the pier,
fires the guards gun at Bill. As he stumbles off the pier, his bloodied face sinks
into the murkey ocean depths.
