If you are unsure as to whether you already have the .Net Framework installed on your computer, there are a number of ways you can check.

The easiest and quickest way is to download and run the Framework Test program below.  This is a very small program written in Visual Basic .Net.  It will only run on a computer with the .Net Framework installed.

To download the program, Right click the Link below, and choose "
Save Target As" to save to your computer.  Save the file to your computer's desktop.

FrameworkTest.exe

After downloading, Double click on the file to run the program.  If the window shown below appears then you have the .Net Framework already installed on your computer.

If this window does not appear, and instead a message box appears telling you that the program cannot be run, then you
do not have the framework installed on your computer.  You will need to download the framework to run any of my programs.

The second way you can check to see if the framework is installed on you computer is to look in the list of programs currently installed on your computer in the Add/Remove Programs window in Control Panel.  If the framework is installed, there will be a reference to it in the list of programs.  The reference will either be one of the following:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

The third way to see if you have the framework is to run  Window Update.  If you don't already have the framework, it will appear in the list of updates your computer requires.

Getting the Framework:

If you need to get the framework, the easiest way is to download it.  The framework can be downloaded in one of two ways.

1).  Via windows update (See above).  Visit
Window Update.

2). Download the framework as a single file.  Click the link below to go to the Microsoft download page.

Note: To download the framework either via windows update, or as a single file, requires downloading a file of around 20+ Mb.

To find out more about getting the framework, you can also visit the Microsoft website by Clicking Here.
