| A CORPORAL Bill Sharp, a building contractor prior to joining up, was able to construct items such as mock planes, guns and trucks. The Indians made camouflage nets and also ran a depot in which trucks were covered in oil and then sprayed with dust. Low flying Lysanders were used to drown out the noise of advancing armour. Germans mounted aircraft engines on the back of trucks to create clouds of dust to hide the movement of troops or vehicles. |
