FOUR MATILDA tanks of 4 Royal Tank Regiment (RTR) were rushed from Alexandria to Tobruk aboard Thurland Castle.

Thurland Castle also carried 22 tanks from 1 Royal Tank Regiment.

The men of 4 RTR were replaced by D Squadron 7 RTR on 19 April.
