| HMS Ladybird was sunk in Tobruk harbour on 12 May 1941. Her hull rested on the harbour bottom and her deck remained above water. Her guns, which remained operational, were able to contribute to the harbour's defences. HMAS Waterhen met her fate under the bombs of seven Picchiatelli (Stukas) of 239ª squadron. HMAS Stuart, Vampire, Voyager, Vendetta and Waterhen were named by Lord Haw Haw the Scrap Iron Flotilla. |
