  ROMMEL FINALLY obtains maps of Tobruk from the Italians and realizes the nature of Tobruk's defences. He reprimands Olbrich for giving up yesterdays attack too easily.

Jack Harris:-

On Saturday afternoon, Austen Mackell was asked to send a day-light patrol to try and capture a prisoner, this happened about 3pm. The patrol consisted of platoon sergeant, Sgt. Jack Gambling, Pte. Dalzeil of 3 Section, Pte. John Hedges of 2 Section, and Albert Hawkins from Athol Robert's B company. When they got about 100 yards outside the tank ditch, the enemy opened fire, and they were forced to come back. Fortunately, none of them got hit.

>> Surrender leaflets were dropped on the garrison. They became much sough-after souvenirs.
