| IN APRIL 1941 the Second World War was well underway. A myriad countries had fallen to the Nazis (Germany) and Fascists (Italy). Britain had staved off the Luftwaffe, unknowingly ending any possibility of German invasion. Six months previously, without informing his ally, Hitler, Mussolini ordered his troops to invade Greece. The United States didn't enter the war for another eight months. |
