Italian supply ships landed in Tripoli carrying German troops, tanks and equipment. Under the energetic direction of a man whose name was to become famous, Generalleutnant Erwin Rommel, this small German force in conjunction with the remnants of the Italian forces, recaptured most of the territory taken by O'Connor. |
