John Bath & Associates was established in 1969 in Melbourne to design and co-ordinate small building projects for busy people or those who lacked confidence in dealing with building contractors. John Bath was the renovation design consultant for 'Home Beautiful' magazine, and ran a regular feature. John has designed many projects and built homes and home units in the Ballina and Byron Bay regions. Who are building designers?
The Building Designers Association of NSW Inc., (BDANSW) formed in 1992, is part of the Building Designers Association of Australia Ltd. John Bath was the Inaugural Treasurer of the BDA NSW, and is a Fellow of the Association. Building designers prepare the bulk of plans that go to councils. Members are required to study and maintain a professional development programme and are accredited through an independent accreditation scheme.
They are required to participate in regular meetings, study new products and methods, attend seminars while participating in Design Award competitions at State and National level.
