John Henry Bowen was born in Bathurst, NSW, on 23 June 1853, son of Martin Bowen
and Elizabeth Sage. All that we know about his parents is that Martin was a
shoemaker.

- William Carlisle (c.1784 - 1852) was a farmer, missionary,
coach painter and school teacher. It is fairly apparent that his father was also
named William but I have no direct evidence of this.

- Angus Fleming married
Elizabeth Taylor on New Years Day 1852 in Glasgow, Scotland. They had
six children. It likely that he died between 1881 and 1884, but the
exact dates of his birth and death are unknown.

- John James Flowerdew
was born in England circa 1846, son of Benjamin Flowerdew and
Elizabeth Woolston

Information from Peter Flowerday: John James Flowerdew's parents were
Benjamin Flowerdew and Elizabeth Tubby. Elizabeth Woolston was his
grandmother. Peter also supplied information about five earlier

- George Gardner arrived in
Australia on 25 Feb 1836 as a convict aged about 23 years old aboard Recovery.
Nothing is known of him prior to that date. He married Mary Grimes at
Capertee (NSW) on 14 Feb 1846.

in Australia as an eighteen year old convict in 1802. Nothing is known,
yet, about his childhood or his antecedents.

- Isaac Kemp died at Cobra, Bligh
(NSW) in 11 April 1857 after having been run over by his dray. He
bequeathed all his possessions to his son William Kemp.

- Thomas Kessey was born Thomas
Casey and was transported to Australia as a convict under his birth
name in 1818. He had been convicted at the Old Bailey of stealing two
sheep. The court transcript indicates that he was living on his
father's farm but does not give his father's name.

Kessey (nee Hanrahan) was born in 1828 at South Creek. Her last
child was born in 1877, but her death date has not been established.

- George Waples died on 27 Feb
1884 at Mt Kembla, NSW. His Death Certificate says that his father was
John Waples but does not give his mother's name. George was born in
Northamptonshire circa 1807 and arrived in Australia aboard Strathfieldsay
on 13 Nov 1831 as a Private in the 4th Regiment.
