It helps us to do our job better. I would really like to encourage every leader (and that includes every Salesian) to get one qualification for the year - that is good for our mission and it is also good for us as individuals. These qualifications will be useful for the rest of your life in many situations - they especially look good to employers when you are trying to get a job! First Aid Courses: If you have never done any first aid before, then it is a great asset to do a level 1 course - this will give you the basic skills that you need to help someone in an emergency. If you already have a first aid certificate, then maybe this is a good time to upgrade your skills and do a level 2 course which is much more comprehensive. Level 1 - RC CPR Basic - 4 hours - $37 - Wednesday April 16 6pm -10 pm. Level 2 - RC Combined Update - 18 Hours - $140 - Three Saturdays - May
17, 24, 31 Project Adventure Workshop: If you have a desire to learn how to run good games, then this workshop would be invaluable for you. I know it costs a lot of money - but consider it a great investment in a skill that will bring you and others a great deal of joy. The workshop is run from Wed May 7th - Fri May 9th at Bentleigh. It costs $260. The workshop is designed to give you skills and ideas for games that you can start on the spot in any situation. It will teach how to run the games and debrief. The skills and knowledge learned here would be useful in any situation working with kids. Later in the year we also want to organise workshops for Bronze medallion, bus driving, rock climbing, and working with kids with ADD. Please have a look at the form attached and send it back soon so that we can have some idea of who is interested in each of the various programs. Then we will try to schedule them at times that would most be of use to those who are interested. Dromana Camps for 1997.
