The beautiful but tragically short Nurse Effie is a hopeless romantic who lives in a perpertual Mills and Boon story.

Ravenous for love, Effie dreams that the drudgery of bedpans and bile ducts will magically disappear and be replaced by blissful marriage to a handsome doctor and a dream home with a swimming pool.

She is repulsed by the adoring orderly  Warren Cronkshonk but besotted with the callous cad Dr Richard Lovechild.
