The Geelong Cement Company Private Railway at Fyansford 1964

The Geelong Cement Company operated a vast limestone quarry at Fyansford, near Geelong, to dig lime for cement. This quarry was served by a private railway with several unusual locomotives, including a narrow gauge Beyer-Garrett. We discovered this railway by accident when visiting the quarry on a Geology Excursion.
