SUBTRUCK - SONGS TO WHISTLE AT WAR

Fondly remembering this album as one awesome ride from start to finish, I shoved it into the CD player once again & am still blown away more than 12 months later & I think at the time I wrote that it was a very cool title as well, fitting the whole feel of the album very apporpriately. The opener "Shotgun" is an absolute blast & I think the whole album should've recieved more attention upon release, but no use crying over spilt milk now. Second in is "Get Thee A Helmet" & whilst it may well be an ode to the mighty band of the same name, I'm still not entirely sure. Whatever the case, guitars are overflowing noise-wise & some huge percussion rounds out the song.

The rest pf the album continues on in similar fashion & there's not a du amongst the rest of the songs. Even after all this time, I'm still wrestling with a fave track, but there's a couple, "Controllo", or "Killing Crabs", though closer "Why" is still awesome. Aah, what the hell, I'll have to listen to it all over again & try to decide. I guess in the end, you be the judge, just brilliant.

Songs To Whistle At War is still available through Sic2 Records. hEARd rating 10/10
