(March 4th 2007) After a significant amount of time sitting idle, work is currently underway to resume the site. To this end, over the last 2 days, antispam measure have been installed on all forms for link submissions, news submissions etc..., to negate the bastard spammers who have been punding the forms for the last couple of years.

While this may inconvenience a small minority of users, at least this reduces the crap that these idiots ram through. I hope to finally get back onto reviews etc..., in the coming months.

(February 27 2005) A long awaited album from New Order called Waiting For The Sirens To Call is due out soon. This is the first new album for the band since 2001. The material on the album has been said to be more rock oriented than some of the band's more well known early work.

(February 27 2005) Weezer, who first came to prominence with Undone (The Sweater Song), have slated their next album for release in May 2005. The first single will apparently be Beverly Hills. The album is as yet untitled.

(February 27 2005) Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has apparently appeared on a Los Angeles radio program confirming that the group are taking a break currently, but denying rumours that the band are breaking up or that there is currently infighting. Rumours had been rife following the band's pullout of a Tsunami benefit concert earlier this month.

(February 27 2005) Organisers of the recent 'Wave Aid' concerts have handed more than $2 million over the aid organisations who are carrying out ongoing work in countries affected by the Tsunami, which hit parts of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand & other countries.

(February 27 2005) Despite a bit of a media feeding frenzy over the last couple of weeks, New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark has vetoed any performance by one of the more popular older acts in Australia, John Farnham, citing any performance by either Farnham, any other Australian or New Zealand performers to provide renditions of classic popular war songs as being inappropriate.

(February 17 2005) New hEARd reviews are finally online. These are the first new reviews published here, despite keeping other parts of the site up to date since October 2002. (February 3 2005) The massive popularity of Apple Computer's iPod music player & it's variations, have begun to impact other manufacturers. Despite a much smaller market share with it's computers than Microsoft, Apple command a massive share in the music player market.

Competing companies have tried to increase their market share with innivations, but the popularity of the iPod & the increasing range of differing models coming out of Apple have made their mark. The engineering & finish of the iPod, combined with it's ease of use & overall product are the reason the iPod is so successful. As Apple's computers are also of an exceptional quality & are innovative, it remains to be seen how long it is before it's Macintosh computers begin to rise in sales.

(February 3 2005) Portishead are apparently working on new material for their first album release in 8 years. No date has been set for the release, but the band have been meeting occasionally to record new material for the forthcoming album.

(February 3 2005) 'Reality' performance shows such as Australian Idol, American Idol, The X-Factor & Popstars are coming under increasing criticism from both within the music industry & from consumers, sick of seeing the same thing redone again & again. Time will tell how well some of the graduates of these shows manage to prolong their career.
