hEARd's Educational project is for individual educational institutions to create their own localised versions of hEARd. The following information is to see if your educational institution is interested in creating a site & providing information to be included under the umbrella of the hEARd site.
If you are interested in creating a version of hEARd for your local area, but are not involved in an educational facility, take a look at hEARd's regional areas project.
CONTENT
The content of your site is largely up to you, but should contain such things as a page introducing your school, college etc... You should provide an email contact address for people wishing to contact you, plus the URL of your official website.
While some institutions don't have much in the way of any suitable material for creating a site, your content may be as simple as upcoming events, student top ten albums etc... student interests or anything else you feel may be relevant for inclusion on your localised site.
HTML
The look & feel of your site must conform with the general image as set out in the hEARd site, using white background, hEARd logos etc... Tables & Javascript are fine, but no Java or Frames are acceptable as these often lead to browser crashes.
SERVER
It is requested that your institution provide space on your institution's own server for the localised site. hEARd will provide localised versions of the hEARd logo for your use.
VOLUNTEERS
The creators of your localised site may be staff of your institution, students or a combination of both, though permission should be obtained & an email sent to hEARd confirming this.
ADVERTISING
As many educational institutions are government funded, over exposed advertising is strictly inappropriate for the Educational Projects & should be avoided. Advertising on the frontpage of your hEARd site is disallowed, though for other pages on your site, this will depend on the policy of your organisation.
If you think you would be interested, please email hEARd to commence setting up your localised hEARd site.
