Mysticism

Mysticism, in its primary forms of Hinduism and Buddhism, is the empiric science of consciousness. Empiric means directly observed, whence the centrality of meditation. Being of the essence of analysis, this practice tends to abstraction, the reducing of all appearances to their elementary constituents. The path is one of renunciation, the aim a transcendent to a state beyond phenomena, beyond concepts, beyond ego identity.
