To help reduce the cost of Scanning I have tried to list Freewareor Final Beta versions (some with only slightly reduced capability).
You will possibly find more current versions of Full Shareware (Trial/Crippleware unless you pay) and Commercial Software at one of the sites below:

POCSAG by Deti Fliegl Shareware (But Not crippled)
- POC32 V2.13 for Windows (including Vista)
- 2 Channel POCSAG decoder, TCP/IP remote monitoring
PDW By Jason Petty
- PDW V2.52 for Windows95/98/XP
- POCSAG/FLEX/ACARS/ERMES/MOBITEX deocder by Jason Petty modified by Peter Hunt and AndreasV. Ver 2.3 dropped HTML and FTP options :-(
PC-ALE by Charles (G4GUO)
- PC-ALE V1.03K for Windows95/98
- FED-STD 1045A or MIL-STD 188-141A Automatic Link Establishment Protocol (ALE) decoder. Works well against weak signals . A minor bug was noted in Scan Mode when the reported frequency was one channel higher than the receiver tuning. Not a problem though if used manually. Not sure ifthis was fixed in version G. Also check out Charles' HFDL program (freeware or commercial versions)
ScannerRecorder by Dave Jacobs
- Scan Recorder V1.9 for Windows95/98
- Digital Audio recorder using Soundblaster, has compression ratio's downto 2Kbits/sec which produce very good audio quality. Squelch control viasoftware so you can leave the receiver on and check only the activity latter.
Spectogram by R S Horne
Shareware
- Spectogram (Gram7) V14 for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
- Audio Spectogram/Spectrum Display. Allows input from line/microphone or.wav files. Allows scrolling back/foward thru a wav file and playing either file or window so you can pick just the signal your after. An image can also be saved of the display.

- Vocevista Realtime (VVRT) V2.2 for Windows95/98
- Audio Spectogram/Spectrum Display. Allows input from line/microphone or.wav files.

Quickmix byMartin Saxon
- Quickmix V1.06 for Windows9x/NT/XP/2000
- A very handy little program is your tired if having to set up you Windowssound mixer for each application. This program lets you save and load upto 300 presets for volume, recording and voice settings.
