Angels in London town.

It's Christmas time and for the first time in my life I am in the cold, the cold of London that is. We are in Covent Garden adding a bit of cheer to the chilly days and this time the theme is Angelic.

Not quite sure I look good as a blond. Just as well I have dark hair.

The venue here has been decked to the hilt and it looks wonderful.

We are performing smack in the middle in front of the church. Here is a pigeons eye view. Bloody things nearly smacked me in the head during one of the performances.

For the first time I have realized that the romanticism of Christmas makes sense when you live in a country that has winter over December. It has always felt weird to be eating a full roast dinner on a 40 deg day and why don't we have snow and Mistle toe ??

People really celebrate Christmas in a big way here. Everything looks great.

Look here's Santa in Hyde Park!!

image028

And here he is again at Tower bridge. He sure gets around. He is everywhere.

Even the Queen makes an effort. I went to visit here at Buckingham Palace and the flag was up so she was in but I guess she was busy because the front gate was locked.

Nice tree Queenie! Payed respects to princess Dianna.

They have made a lovely fountain in her honor. It is a never ending circle of water and has a peaceful resonance about it.

Went and said hello to Big Ben who is still ticking away at the houses of parliament.

Visited the Jewel Tower at Westminster and would you believe I found out how big a Peck is. It is smaller than a Bushel and bigger than a gallon. This is where the Board of Trade used to store their standards of measurement. Now I know how many peppers Peter Piper picked.

Had some time off so visited the British Museum with the beautiful glass and steel roof.

I even found a long lost double ganger.

I miss you mummy.....

The Tate Modern had a great exhibit by Doris Salcedo called "Shibboleth" in the Turbine Hall. Basically it is this fracture in the concrete. A crack in the ground that looks like it was made by earth movement but in stead the artist has created this amazing void in the middle of the gallery spanning the full length and we don't know how it was done.
Click here to listen to the artist talk about her work.

On one of my evenings I treated myself to a night out and saw Wicked.

Let me just say it was.

An finally I am debuting a piece of fashion designed by Darren Carmichael for the first time in London.

It is the thing around my neck and it's called the "Clunes Strangler". A wonderful invention made from babies blankets and the such. It is a winner on a cold and frosty morning so thank you Daz. It came in really handy.

About to get on a plane now and head home. Sadly missing out on Christmas day as it will go into the aether during my flight. Maybe I will see Santa making his rounds. Have a fantastic holiday season people and may next year be the best one of all.

Much love,

Georgie Boy
