Last
time we chatted I had just come back from China,
the land of interesting uses of the English
language and funny signs like this one.
Couldn't work out if it means don't tug at your heart strings, don't hold on to your heart, let your heart run free perhaps??? You tell me? Could it have something to do with the protests about China's staging of the 2008 Olympics and it's appalling human rights record?
On the other hand it could just mean, don't fly kites here

Had a fun day at our friends place watching the running of the Melbourne Cup and the winner was Efficient, in name and in nature. Needless to, I didn't win a thing but did manage to escape the drag of jet-lag.

Then headed to a wild party at the Gin Palace in Melbourne to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. Lets just say, it went OFF!

They had a petting zoo.

It was infectious.

To add to that, free Gin and free Cigarettes all night, a hot dog stand, hit the thing with a hammer and make the bell ring and loads of clowning around.

They even gave away Mo's for Movember.

The only thing that sobered us up was the police arriving to shut the thing down with the use of capsicum spray. Luckily we had decided to leave just before things really heated up. Not sure what the need was for such an excessive response but didn't hang around to find out. Maybe they (the Police) had, had enough of drunken loutish behavior from most of the population of Melbourne that day and took out a bit of frustration on a group of people having innocent, harmless fun. One thing is for sure, Melbournians love getting drunk on the day of the Melbourne Cup!
A couple of days later I was back on a plane and heading to Perth to perform at the Northbridge Festival.

We performed two different shows on the same day and the weather was HOT so it was a little taxing but a lot of fun.

Love to all,
George
