It's
not every day that you get the offer to make a
fool of yourself in public so when I was asked if
I would be part of a female synchronized swimming
routine, I jumped at the chance and said YES!
The
venue for all this was Birrarung Marr in
Melbourne Australia and the performance was
commissioned for the 12th FINA World
Championships.
Rehearsal's took place in the beautiful Fitzroy Town Hall and it was such a laugh working out what funky moves we were going to do up on those poles.

Then of course there is the costuming to make the picture complete. Here I am with the designer, Laurel Frank during a fitting.

When we finally finished the rehearsing and the costumes were complete it was so exciting.

Now you may not be aware but deck work is very important in Synchronized Swimming and we made sure we did a good job of it.

The back story we created was that we were the under 9's women's swimming team from Wangaratta in regional Victoria who came to Melbourne to compete for the Swimming Championships. You may be wondering what I was doing being a part of all this, I was a last minute substitution. Here is the resulting show we put on.

This was one of the most fun projects I have been involved with and I recommend to anyone, if you are given the opportunity to dress up in a pink ladies one piece swim suit in front of a lot of people, I say, GO FOR IT!
Next month I am heading to Thailand on holiday and then Athens for a Gig.
