Well
after some crazy driving through Poland and a
quick stop in Berlin we finally got to
Pletenenburg, Germany. We stayed at a very quaint
hotel on a horse ranch in the mountains. It was
run by a lovely couple and they were very proud
of the diverse guests they have stay with them
and asked everyone to sign a guest book. Looking
through the old guest books, I see that "Divine"
has stayed there along with many a 80's faded
forgotten one hit wonder groups and other German
folk music legends, non of which I have heard of.
Here is the view from the bedroom window.
It was sunny, as usual, so, hard to see the mountains in the background. It was a very small festival but all the town's folk came out to see it.
Next day we headed off to Sarre, Italy and drove past Lake Geneva along the way. It was beautiful.

Sarre is up in the mountains near the Swiss border. Just stunning.

This is the view out of this hotel window. We ended up staying in a place called Aosta, close to Sarre, because Sarre is so small that it doesn't have a hotel. Did I mention how much I love Italian food? Yum!

Aosta is an old town surrounded by mountains. It has the obligatory church in the centre of town and doesn't disappoint with the grandeur of design. Check out the front entrance.

If you ever wondered what it would cost to buy a little pad in an Italian village, here is a few pics of real estate adds.

Bit of work and this pile of stones could be the villa of your dreams!

How about a couple of us get together and buy this place from Father Christmas?

Our performance took place in Sarre with the backdrop of the mountains on one side and a beautiful castle on the other.

We did our stretching and warmed up under a tree and this is what we had to look at for inspiration.

ok, then the next day we headed to Civitanova, Italy by the coast, and boy did I work hard there.........on my tan!

The ocean was beautiful and the water was warm all through the day and into the night. We did a lot of swimming and some swimming and did I mention we lay on the beach, oh and we swam as well.
We did eventually perform on an estate and this was one of the residences on the grounds. Imagine living in this place. It was set on a large lot of beautifully established gardens and our show took place in front of it.

Having had plenty of fun in the sun we journeyed to Vlaardingen, Holland and unfortunately the show was rained out. We were to perform in a public park as part of a music festival. The park had this great feature in the centre of it.

It was a petting zoo with goats and sheep and cows and ducks and any other farm animal you could put a finger to. They all lived in harmony together and anyone could walk up to the fence and pat them at any time of the day. They were so tame that they came to greet you and barred and mooed and clucked when you got close. We had a nice night on the town in nearby Rotterdam for Sally's birthday.

Now I am in London and we are about to perform under Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. It is looking cold and windy and likely to rain so hoping for a reprieve so that we can perform.

Crossing the fingers that we get some shows in. We are at the mercy of the elements when it comes to out door entertaining. See you at the next instillment, which will probably be at the end of the season.
See ya soon,
George
