The "Zurich Schilling". The Immediate Source on the Burgundian Wars

[S]chilling’s Great Burgundian Chronicle is considered to be the most original source of information on the Burgundian wars. In 1474, Diebold Schilling the Elder was officially commissioned to write a chronicle on the foundation of the city of Berne.

This manuscript was acquired by Hans Waldmann, and is now kept in Zurich's Central Library.

The Fine Art Facsimile Edition, which is limited to 980 copies world-wide, comprises 1,036 pages, approximately 250 x 370 mm in size. The pig skin binding with six ribs, embossing and clasps and is a faithful re-creation of the original.

The complimentary commentary volume, in German, contains the complete text, contributions on history and illustrations as well as full captions to the illustrations. In the French edition, the contributions are summarised. The comprehensive captions to the illustrations are translated in full.
