Step 1:
- open a 'AppleWorks Office' drawing document
- click on WINDOW menu then PAGE VIEW
- consider the size of the animation
eg 1- 5cm by 1-5cm (zoom in for details)
- work within this space
- use the FREEHAND drawing tool
- draw closed shapes and fill with colour
- draw each part separately
- move together and layer if need be
- group where possible
- DON'T group parts to be changed (eg arm)

Step 2:
- click on EDIT then SELECT ALL (CTRL_A)
- without grouping, duplicate (CTRL_D)
- click on part of picture and drag to new space
- SAVE often (CTRL_S)
- use FREEHAND tool to redraw parts
- eg draw over the red part of the hat in a new position
- fill with colour and delete original shape
- move fluff ball at and of hat to new position
- do same for arm - draw new shape over the top
- delete old shape and reposition cuff and hand
- slightly resize the hair

Step 3:
- use POINTER to draw around all of this picture
- this should get all the handles for it
- duplicate this picture (CTRL_D)
- click on part of it and drag to new space
- repeat the process of redrawing parts of the picture
- delete old parts
- repeat this process as often as you like
- many small changes look better than a few big changes
- extra: AppleWorks Slide Show can be used to view the
animation if each image has been put in the same position
on a new page
