songs, stories and movies have been created about the birth of Jesus?
..about Father Christmas? Who wrote/created them, when, and where can they be found now? Why were they created and who was the intended audience? How have they changed over time? Are there newer versions? How are these songs, stories and movies connected or related to us and our lives? How do people feel about these songs, movies and stories? Because of our people feel what should we do? What have we learnt from these songs, stories and movies about history, about relationships, about 'the spirit of Christmas'? How do we know what is real and what is created for the 'spirit of Christmas'?

Brainstorm
about songs children remember from home, school, church, radio, TV. Do the
same for stories and movies.
Categorize these into old/new, culture, children/adults... Use '' to create a mind map of these findings. Use resources to share and discover less known songs, stories and movies. Find a song or story that uses old fashioned words. Rewrite it in own, modern language. Present as a poster using a program such as ''. Translate into another language or from one cultural setting to another. Present a variety in slide show form - ' or ' Use an old song and put it to modern music or an old tune to modern lyrics. Use a microphone to create a sound file. Use a program that records own tunes like ''. Write a modern script for the nativity story or Saint Nicholas. In '' write a modern song, story or script about someone who is giving by nature and works for peace. Create a movie, or an interactive stack in 'Hyperstudio', based on the concept of Jesus being born here, today, and present it on the computer. |
