The Balance bar - incorporated in all Tilton Brake Pedal Assemblies - is available as a separate part to fit to either an existing pedal or a pedal of your own manufacture. Consisting of an adjustable rod with a spherical bearing, which slides in the steel tube provided, and all necessary clevises and nuts, it allows two separate master cylinders (one for the front brakes, one for the rears) of the same or different bore sizes to operate off the one pedal. By altering the position of the bearing in the tube the lever ratio is changed and the force applied to each cylinder is increased or reduced. To enable adjustment while on the move, an optional Tilton Balance Bar Adjuster Cable Kit can be purchased. It contains an adjuster knob, 6ft of (shortenable) cable and all necessary parts and instructions.

The Tilton Brake Bias Valve can be used in addition to a Balance Bar or just by itself. Super-neat, 7 position lever-adjusted, the valve is plumbed into the line leading to the brakes whose pressure you wish to control - usually the rears. It does NOT increase pressure to those brakes; by moving the lever position you govern the point at which the valve starts to operate. Once in operation the line pressure to those brakes is reduced to about 50% of the pressure going to the unaffected brakes. Depending on lever position the cut-in points range from approximately 180 psi through to 1000 psi.

The positive lever control lets you know exactly where you are at with the valve, not always the case with knob control types, and is lightning quick to adjust.

The valve is ideal for almost all competition vehicles, particularly Rally cars and Off-road racers which constantly encounter changing road surfaces.
