INSTALMENT 8

READING CHARTS II

This is further practice in interpreting Charts. Three appear separately on the following pages. They are all Age Harmonic Charts, taken from real-life situations.

Always look for the dominant feature. Refer back to the method recommended in Instalment 7.

What do you glean from   Chart No 1?   It shows an important event in the life of a 45-year old married woman.

Answer for CHART 1

The woman’s husband died suddenly of a heart attack.

The conjunction of the Sun and Mars in the House of Deaths square Neptune tells the story immediately, Mars rules the 7th House (the husband).
The planet Venus gives confirmation by its dual Rulership and its Aspects.

Venus ruling both the 1st and the 8th Houses shows that the event chiefly concerns a death. It is square the Floating MC and the Equatorial Ascendant in the 8th House. The square to the EqAs shows that the native is the person chiefly involved. The MC opposite the EqAs reflects the woman’s sorrow.

Answer for CHART 2

The woman’s pet dog was run over by a car and killed.

This event is harder to diagnose. The clue comes from the principal Aspect in the Chart  – Saturn conjunct Venus. Though not the closest Aspect (the Grand Trine of Pluto, Mercury and Jupiter is closer) it is the more powerful being a conjunction in an Angle. Saturn rules the House of Deaths; Venus rules the House of Pet Animals (the 5th) though small animals as a class are represented by the 6th House.

Answer for CHART 3

The woman started on an overseas trip. (It stretched into nearly two years)

Here the answer is given immediately by the Moon on the Cusp of the 9th House (Overseas Travel) closely opposite Mars ruling the other House of Journeys (the 3rd).

The Moon and Mars provide further emphasis by closely aspecting the Rising Degree.

Jupiter in and Ruling the 2nd House signifies the expenditure necessary for the trip.
