TEST 154 - Female

The Test is to discover what important event occurred in her life on 29 January 2009 while still resident in Adelaide. It was one of the following five possibilities:

1. She had minor surgery.
2. She lost her purse with a sum of money.
3. She got a job in a beauty salon.
4. She enrolled in a language course.
5. She moved house.

The Test is open to all astrologers. Use whatever astrological means you like. If you wish, email your answer to me. Provided it is correct it will be published on this Site on March 15 together with a worked Example Answer. If you use several techniques please send only the one you consider most effective.

I have been asked to publish THE TABLE OF MONTH HARMONICS to assist those wanting to find the harmonic chart applying to a whole month. Here it is:



To use this Table, in the TOP ROW select the BIRTH MONTH. Place a ruler to the right of that month and reading down the column select the fraction in the FIRST COLUMN that refers to the month required. Add this fraction to the age in years.

For example, in the present Test, for the Month Harmonic Chart we would select June (birth month) in the top row. Look down the column and select January, the month of the event. The corresponding fraction in the first column is .5833. Add this to the age (33) of the woman at the time of the event and we have 33.5833. A chart for this age gives her MONTH HARMONIC for the period 10 Jan – 10 Feb 2009.

For Age Harmonics, each individual factor in the Birth Chart has to be multiplied by the age. Usually, this is done by a Program in the computer. (Solar Fire does it beautifully). The Ascendant is found by multiplying the Birth Asc by the Age Harmonic, and all the Cusps have the same degrees and minutes (Equal House). The Birth MC multiplied by the Age Harmonic gives the "Floating MC" which can be anywhere in the Harmonic Chart and is more important than the 10th Cusp in the Harmonic Chart.

Both Day and Month Harmonic Charts reveal the answer to the Test. It is just a matter of applying the steps I have previously outlined.

Test 154 – Answer

The dominant feature of the Chart is the conjunction of Uranus (change) with the Floating MC and EqA in the 4th House (the Home). This supplies the answer immediately as none of the other choices has any relevance.

Note that the Day Harmonic covers the period 10:57 pm on 28 Jan to 10:57 pm on 29 Jan 2009.

The dominant feature here is Pluto conjunct the Moon’s Node on the 4th Cusp (the Home).

22 astrologers responded by email. Seven were correct. Their answers appear below in order of receipt.

Morris Bodnar, (St. Catharines, Canada).
She moved house. In the Harmonic Month chart, Harmonic Pluto exactly conjuncts the 4th House of Home. This translates as a change in her home or house habit. I noted a similarity in this Test to Test #152 where the female here also moved into a new home and her Harmonic Day Chart had Pluto conjunct the 4th House.


Catherine Thomas (New York).
The Harmonic Chart for Jan 29, 2009 shows a very busy Harmonic Third and Fourth House. Harmonic MC is conjunct Uranus in the Fourth which squares the Natal Moon and makes a semi-sextile to Mercury in the Third which would seem to imply moving house.


Irene Knudsen (Hamburg).
The 3rd House (removal) and 4th House (home) are accented.
The closest Aspect is Eq. conjunct Uranus in the 4th House, change of life/home.
Floating MC conjunct Uranus in the 4th House, geographic relocation. Floating MC and Uranus semi-square Mercury (Ruler of the 1st and 4th Houses), change of home.
Sun (motivation) Ruler of the 3rd House and dispositor of Mercury trine Jupiter (expansion) in the 7th and Ruler of the 7th, a happy change of home.
Harmonic Uranus square the native Moon, change of Home.


Sjakkie Govers (Holland).
I think the answer to Test 154 is Option 5: She moved house.
In the Day Age Harmonic Chart the closest Aspect is the Floating MC conjunct Uranus, conjunct Equ/Asc in the 4th AH House, indicating her removal.


Paul Langeveld (Holland).
I think that the Vx, MC, Uranus conjunction in the Day Harmonic 4th House clearly is indicating a move, corroborated by the Venus sextile N.Node on Cusp 4.


Rossy Petrova (Bulgaria).
I think the woman moved House.
Directions [by Solar-Arc]: Chiron conjoins the 4th House cusp; Uranus opposes it.
Moon (4th House Significator) makes a sextile to IC.
South Node (from 4th House) trines the Ascendant.
Moon (significator of home) makes a trine and sextile to the Nodes axis in 10th and 4th, home. The Ascendant opposes Pluto.
I guess it is a period of important changes in plans for the native.
Secondary Progression. Progressed Moon is found on the 8th House cusp trining 4th House cusp and the South Node in it.
Solar Return. Sun, Mercury and Venus are found in 4th House in the Solar Return Figure. Solar Return Moon conjoins Radix 1st/7th House axis together with Saturn. Solar Return Ascendant trines Natal Moon in 4th House and Uranus in 9th.
By the time of the event progressed Solar Return Ascendant
(one day = one degree) trines the Sun, Mercury and Venus in the 4th House of the Solar Return Chart.
Transits. By the time of the event both transit Saturn and transit Uranus make a square to the Ruler of the 4th House, Mercury.
Transit Jupiter (Ascendant Ruler) opposes directed Moon (home significator). Transit Pluto opposes Directed IC.


Shirley Gray (East Lansing Michigan USA).
She moved house.
Shown by Age Harmonic for Jan 29, 2009:
Uranus and floating MC mutually applying: Sudden change in or of her residence.
Pluto opposed the radical Asc: Readjustment of circumstances.


Congratulations to the above astrologers who found the correct answer but also to those who made the attempt, and particularly if they put their solution in writing. Writing out your analysis clarifies your thinking and makes for concise expression.
