TEST 150-Female

Here is the Birth Chart of a woman born in Adelaide on 4 December 1975 at 3:32 pm Daylight Saving Time. She is unmarried and employed.

The Test is to find what occurred in her life in Adelaide on 30th July 1995. It was one of the following five options:
  1. She had a surgical operation.
  2. She had a car accident.
  3. She moved house.
  4. She broke off an engagement.
  5. She lost her job.
These Monthly Tests are open to all astrologers who want to develop their predictive capacity by working on the exercises, which is possibly the best way of developing astrological skill. Use any astrological methods of your choice. There are no costs or registration required. The Answer can be deduced from various Charts. As an aid to those who are unable to produce the Age Harmonic Chart for the date of the event I print it below surrounded by the Birth Figure.

The solution to the Test will appear on this Website on November 15. Any correct answers emailed to me will also be published. Use as many astrological methods or techniques as you like but if you use several methods, email only the one you consider the most effective. “Request read receipt” (if it is in the Tools menu of your computer) so that you may know I have received your response.



ANSWER

She had a car accident.


The answer can be read immediately from the given BiWheel of the Age Harmonic (30 July 1995) surrounded by the Birth Figure (or vice versa). The dominant feature is the opposition of Uranus to Mars across the Horizon. Not only does it have the smallest orb (16’) of all the inter-planetary Aspects but also it occupies the most powerful position.

Uranus-Mars is preeminently associated with violence - accidents, collisions, injuries, surgery, childbirth, shock, etc.

The only other possible option from the five given is surgical operation but this is negated by the lack of appropriate Significators affecting the 8th or 6th House.

Other options are also eliminated:
3. No House removal – 3rd House not activated.
4. No broken engagement (betrothal) – 5th House not involved.
5. Did not lose her job – Neither 6th or 10th House involved.

Though the above BiWheel was the most direct route to the answer, it can also be deduced from some other charts:

SOLAR MONTH (corrected for precession)

In the above (precessed) Solar-Month Chart
1. Mars is conjunct the Moon and both are square Mercury (cars).
2. Ruler Venus forms a Yod with Pluto and Uranus (stroke of Fate).
3. Saturn squares Fortuna in the 3rd House (transport).
4. Jupiter on the 3rd Cusp (cars) trines the Vertex (significant occurrence).

The Precessed Lunar Return Chart in a BiWheel inside the Natal Figure also gives the answer:

(Cusps are those of the inner wheel which is the Lunar Return.)

  1. The Natal opposition of Pluto to the Ascendant now
    lies along the 3rd-9th Axis (Roads and Transport).
  2. Natal Saturn is right on the Ascendant of the BiWheel
    (fall or collision).

Respondents

Participants must have found this Test too difficult. There were 20 respondents but the only correct ones are the two below:

Fenneke Monchen (Holland):
She had a car accident
Dasalords: Venus-Saturn-Venus-Jupiter-Ketu
In both the natal chart and divisional chart they all five point to the same direction and have an agenda for the car accident. This is also the case in the Varshaphal (solar return):
Venus is significator for vehicles and lord o fthe 4th conjunct Rahu
Sa is significator for accidents, problems, set backs, lord of the 1st house of body and lord of the 12th.
Venus again as significator and conjunct Rahu
Jupiter lord of the 3rd and 6th from Venus, conjunct lord of the 8th.
Ketu in the 6th from Jupiter, in Aries and Mars as significator of accidents.


Shirley Gray (Michigan USA):
She had an auto accident.
In the Age Harmonic Chart:
Catastrophe is shown by Saturn ruling Ascendant (physical body) square Pluto.
Neptune ruling 3rd (roads, short trips) conjunct Sun, Uranus (loss of consciousness, shock).
Uranus conjunct radical Moon (emotional upset) and Mars (accident, injury).
Hospitalization shown by malefics conjunct Sun in 12th with radical Sun, Neptune and Mercury, ruler 6th of illness.


A few words about these Tests may correct some misapprehensions.
The aim of the Tests is to teach how to find what happened on a particular day, whether or not it was important in the overall life of the person (it is important to the native on the day). In trying to find this, the astrologer also learns how to distinguish between the different interpretations of the dominant feature in the relevant Chart for that day.

The Tests are straightforward exercises and not designed to be “tricky”. They are difficult enough without your having to work out whether they are devious or otherwise designed to mislead you. They are not – that would defeat their purpose.

The demonstrated Test Answers are material for serious study – not just interesting incidents to be read through, wondered at and forgotten. I applaud the efforts of all respondents. What is important is how much you have learned from your efforts whether or not your answer was correct.

The answers to the Tests set in this Website are incontrovertible because they are facts in the public record. Other types of test have been suggested occasionally but it is hard to find one where the answer is not a matter of personal opinion and so open to dispute. However, other variants are possible: For example,
  1. Finding the Ascendant of a person’s chart when given a list of eight or ten precise event dates plus information regarding parents’ and siblings’ birth dates.
  2. Finding the most important event during one year of a person’s life.
  3. Finding the date of a given event within a specified period.
The above are all possible but it is hard to find suitable material, especially as very little is forthcoming, even from those who like and do the Tests.
Another type of test that is barred is one that relates only to a specific technique say, Age Harmonics, which cuts out the great many astologers who prefer Vedic, Indian, Chinese, etc., methods. If you have any ideas (and especially material) along the above lines please communicate them to me so that this very worthwhile learning practice can go on uninterrupted.
