Test 149-Male

Here is the geniture of a man born in London, Canada (42N59, 81W14) at 4:17 pm on 30 September 1971.

There was a major occurrence in his life at his birth place on 31 August 2001. It was one of the five following events. The Test is to pick which of these events actually occurred:

1. A daughter was born to him.
2. He married.
3. He moved into a new house.
4. He won a prize in a lottery.
5. His father died.

These Monthly Tests are open to all astrologers everywhere who want to try their skills and develop their predictive capacity by working on the exercises. Use any astrological methods of your choice. There are no costs nor is registration required. This is a free service and is possibly the best way of developing astrological skill.

I print below the Age Harmonic Chart for the event as an aid to those who would like to use it. The answer to the Test can be read from this Figure.

The solution to the Test will appear on this Website on October 15. Any correct answers I receive will also be published. Use as many astrological methods or techniques as you like but if you email it to me please give only the one you consider the most effective.

THE ANSWER

This is a difficult Test and calls for close analysis of the relevant Charts. It is not feasible to draw a swift conclusion from a cursory inspection of a Figure. For Western Astrologers the Age Harmonic Chart above is in my view the most revealing. It can be approached systematically from different directions, all of which have been listed in the Website and many demonstrated:

1. Angular Planets – Mars on the 4th Cusp, the Home. It holds the same degree as Uranus on the 3rd Cusp, Removal. Jupiter in the 4th House emphasizes the home and trines Saturn ruling the Ascendant.



2. Closest Aspect – The Sun is one’s ‘castle’ – home and it sextiles Fortuna (treasure) with an orb of only 9'. Fortuna also has dominion in the 4th House which has Taurus on the Cusp. Further, Fortuna is sesquare (135°) Uranus on the 3rd Cusp (Removal).



3. Close configurations – Venus ruling the 4th House (the home) is in a Yod formation with the Floating MC and the North Node (orbs 53', 55’ 2’). There is also a T-Square, Saturn-Neptune-Moon, but its orbs are too wide to give it precedence.



4. Elimination of the other Options:
   
   (a) No daughter born – Moon in 5th House square Saturn (denies); Ruler of 5th, Mercury, conjunct Neptune afflicted by Saturn (loss, disappointment).
   
   (b) He did not marry – No planet in the House of Marriage. The Sun rules the 7th House and is not linked to a female planet nor is there emphasis on the House of Status (10th). Venus sextiles the Floating MC but is not sufficient to indicate marriage without planetary connections.
   
   (c) He did not win a prize in a lottery – Moon in the 5th House (Lotteries) is square Saturn (denial).
   
   (d) Father did not die – Mars on the 4th Cusp (father) not afflicted; neither is the Sun. No bad emphasis on the 8th House(Deaths).

The elimination of these four events leaves us with the remaining option – move into a new house.

Answers from Participants

22 astrologers took up the challenge to find the answer. Three were correct. Their answers are printed below.

I used Vedic with kp ayanamsha,
The dashas are Jup.Sat.Jup.Sat
Both are connected to 7th House Aspect , Jupiter rules 3rd that is 12th from 4th, the House of residency. 3rd negates residency, so it is moving home.
Transiting Jupiter is in Gemini aspecting Pisces and the 3rd House. Transiting Saturn is in Taurus aspecting again Jupiter, Ruler of 3rd House.
Transiting Mars is in Sagittarius aspecting 3rd House.


Serge Boissinot (France):
Lunar Quotidian Chart established for the birth place and for 30 August 2001 local time 5h34 pm (UT 9h34 pm), Asc 17°28 Capricorn.
Moon opposite Venus, ruling the 4th House (real estate) and the 9th House (foreigner).
My answer is therefore – he moved into a new house.


Chiarastella Ghersani (Italy):
The reading of the Age Harmonic introduces Ascendancy to 26° Aquarius, Uranus in Aries in 3rd House.
Conjunction Mars-Jupiter in the 4th House; 120° Aspect to Saturn-Sun, Libra, 8th House.
In the Theme of Birth, Saturn is in the 4th House, Libra, and Moon-Mars in the 1st House, Aquarius.



The many respondents who did not find the solution should nevertheless realize how much they have learned by their efforts to do so – more, indeed, than the successful participants. Mistakes are inevitable in the learning process. The biggest mistake is not to try.
