Here is the geniture of a man born in Cannanore, India, (11N51, 75E22) on 22 April 1965 at 8:45 am IST.

There was a major occurrence in his life in Cannanore on 24 Dec 1995. It was one of the five following events. The Test is to pick which of these events actually occurred:

He moved into a new house.
He gained a new job.
He fell passionately in love.
He received a kidney transplant.
He received a large inheritance.

These Monthly Tests are open to all astrologers everywhere who want to try their skills and develop their predictive capacity by working on the exercises. Use any astrological methods of your choice. As an aid to those who are unable to produce the Age Harmonic Chart for the date of the event I print it below. The answer to the Test can be read from this Figure.

You obtain maximum benefit from the exercise if you write out your answer. It clarifies your thinking and sharpens your judgement. Email it to me if you like. Include “Request read receipt” (if it is in the Tools menu of your computer) so that you may know I have received your answer.

The solution to the Test will appear on this Website on Sept. 15. Any correct answers emailed to me will also be published. Use as many astrological methods or techniques as you like but if you do use several email only the one you consider the most effective. An answer that is correct does not need to be repeated with another technique, but if the answer is not right any more supporting factors do not make it so.

ANSWER

The man received a kidney transplant.

The Age Harmonic Chart provided gives the answer without the need for anything else:

The Angular conjunction of Mars and Neptune in Libra strikes the eye immediately (kidney disease). Mars ruling the 8th House (surgery) and 1st House (physical body) with Neptune ruling the 12th (hospital) tells the story.

You get the same result if you approach the Chart from observance of the closest Aspect: Uranus square Pluto (orb 30’) – typical of surgery and reinforced by Pluto in the 12th House and Co-Ruler of the 8th.

A third method (elimination of events not indicated) also gives the answer: Nothing to indicate new House or new job (4th and 19th Houses). Nothing to indicate passionate love (5th House, Venus, etc.)
Not sufficient evidence of a large inheritance – Moon conjunct Jupiter but no relevance to 8th House.

Correct Answers from Participants

Twenty six respondents sent answers and eleven were correct. Where several different methods are presented only the most convincing one is published. Here they are, in order of receipt:

I based my choice on the Age-Harmonic Chart of 24 Dec 1995:
Asc and 8th House cusp Ruler Mars, Angular.
Eq Asc in the 8th.
Venus (Exalted) dispositor of many planets on the 12th House cusp, hospitalization; Venus and Libra by definition = the kidneys.
Venus in mutual reception with Neptune, her Ruler and Ruler of the 12th House.
Pluto co-Ruler of the 8th in the 12th, forming a close Aspect to Uranus. (transplant-operation).
Mercury Ruler of the 6th hitting the Asc from the 12th, in 0 Aries – a new start.
Jupiter and Neptune forming a quincunx, both Rulers of the 12th and Jupiter dispositor of the Sun too.

The Age Harmonic Chart for 24 December 1995 graphically depicts the event:
Mars (ruling the ASC, surgery) conjunct Neptune (ruling 12th House, hospital) in Libra – kidney.
Venus on the cusp of 12 House.
Mercury, the Ruler of 6 House (of health), in 12 House.
Pluto (surgery) ruling 8 House in 12 House (hospital).
Moon conjunctJupiter sextile Venus (recovery, success).

The seventh Annual House in Pisces has Saturn in it, square Jupiter in Sagittarius, but retrograde. The third Annual House, in Scorpio, has North Node in opposition Sun Lord of 12th Annual House. Venus (kidney) in exile (Aries) on Cusp 8 trine Pluto in third House. Mars in 12th H. trine Jupiter, Lord of 7th House. The Arabian Part of Surgery at 15Sg35 in conjunction with Jupiter.

Rossitsa Petrova (Bulgaria):
In the Solar [Return] Chart for 1995, MC in on the mid-point Mars/Saturn (dead axis), Mars in 12th (hospital) and Saturn in 7th (kidney). Venus at the cusp of 8th House (surgery) is on the midpoint Uranus/Pluto, being in trine and sextile to them (successful operation). By the time of the operation directional Mars (surgery) is on the midpoint Venus/Saturn (kidney failure) and squares the midpoint Venus/Pluto ( kidney transplantation). It is on the 9th degree of kidneys (Ebertin correlation between Zodiac and anatomical parts). Mars however trines the Ascendant which is indicative for both good surgeon and successful operation. Directional nodes square the midpoint Mars/Neptune and Uranus/ Neptune - both indicating a disease at advanced stage. However they sextile and trine Pluto, which is also a supportive Aspect for successful transplantation.
The chart shows that the guy was some kind very lucky to have this operation and people from the family helped much the situation, probably the mother especially.

The native was running Dasa of Malefic Mars, anthra of weak Mercury(aspected by malefic Mars) & Vidasha of malefic Venus. 6th House lord is Venus which rules over Kidney. Venus is badly placed in the Chart and it is also Combust.
Secondary significators Sun & Mars are also afflicted in natal as well as in transit. In this case instead of venus Moon will act as ascendant lord. Moon is badly placed in the natal Chart. Transit Mars is afflicting natal Moon. In transit over transit also Moon is severely afflicated by Venus. In addition to this Sun is also afflicted by MMP Jupiter.

Asc Sub Sub Lord promises that the native is prone to disease related to Kidney. 7th SSL involves Asc and 9th and commit to 7 and 8. Simultaneously, 8th and 9th SSLs involves Asc and 8th and commits to 9. Dasa period running on the date of event are Ju-Ju-Ve-Sa-Ju. Prana being SSL of 8th and 9th involves and commits to relevant cusps.
Jupiter, the Prana Lord, involves 7th and 8th and commits to Asc and 9th justifies the event. Further, Jupiter the Prana Lord is in the SSL of Mercury which is positioned in 7 and 8. Transit of Sun in Jupiter Sign and in Ketu Star, transit of Moon in Saturn Sign and Sun star signifies the event. Slow-moving planet Jupiter, which determines the year of happening of an important event, transits in Jupiter Sign which is already discussed above,further confirms the event.

Mercury opposite Mars-Neptune, Houses 1-7, Aries - Balance (anaesthetic action),
Venus in Fishes - House 11 - relationship with Saturn of 120° (best functionality with new systems) - House 7 in Balance (backs).
Sun-Uranus 90° to Pluto, Governor Scorpio House 8 – and [Sun] 60° to Mars-Neptune, House 7 – Balance.
Mars-Neptune, 90° to Saturn in Crab House 4.
The organ deteriorated [so much] that it died, cut by the surgeon, replaced with another non-new organ.

Native was running Ju-Ju-Ve-Sat-Ju. All these planets are well connected with Asc, 7th, 8th and 9th cusps. Sooksma Saturn involves Asc and commits to 7,8 and 9. Prana Jupiter also well connects Asc with 8 and 9. Transit of Sun and Jupiter are in the Jupiter Sign ( Dasa/Bhukti/Prana Lord) in Ketu Star. Moon transits in Saturn Sign (Sooksma Lord) and in the Star of Sun/Moon. All are capable of enacting the event. Jupiter the Dasa Lord is not only involves and commits to Asc and 7, 8 and 9 but its SSL Mercury is posited in 7 and 8, supporting Star level signification of Jupiter.

PauL Langeveld (Holland):
I think that looking at the nearest Aspects of planets in the Age Harmonic Chart there is only one possibillity, namely replacement of body parts because of Pluto (6 Ruler in 12 H.) trine Uranus in HA and Venus (kidney) on C.12 in sextile with the Moon. ( in opposition. to C.8). The Moon in Capricorn square Mercury (1 Ruler) in Natal is indicating bad kidneys!

I am taking the Natal chart and applying the Annual and Monthly Tithi Pravesha principles.
A. Annual TP 1995.
1. Vaara Lord is Jup, which is 2nd and 5th lord placed in Lagna. Jup is retro.
2. Hora lord is Sun, who is 10th lord and placed in 6th house with 8th house and Lagna co-lord. This Sun is being aspected by Rahu by Graha Drishti.
3. Lagna lord is Mars and placed in 9th house, which is also badhaka house.
4. Lagna is Sc which is 7th from Natal Lagna of Ta.
B. Monthly TP Dec 1995.
1. Vaara Lord is Mer, which is 1st and 4th lord and placed in 7th house with 6th lord Mar, 5th and 12th lord Ven, 7th and 10th lord Jup.
2. Hora lord is Sun, who is 3rd lord and placed in 6th house. This Sun is being aspected by Rahu by Graha Drishti.
3. Lagna Lord is Mer, which is 1st and 4th lord and placed in 7th house with 6th lord Mar, 5th and 12th lord Ven, 7th and 10th lord Jup.
4. Lagna is Ge which is 2nd from Natal Lagna of Ta.
5. Lagna is Sc which is 7th from Natal Lagna of Ta.
Summary : The above indicates to me that the event was "4. He received a kidney transplant.".

Dasa Analysis.
Mars-Mercury-Venus, Main Lord, Mars- being the Significator of H12, bring the event of suffering, however, the Sun, Mulatrikona of H4 is both the dispositor of Mars and Navamsa lord of Mars, it seems that there is a need to force out suffering.
The Sub-lord, Mercury is the Mulatrikona lord of H5 placed at H11 is debilitated in Natal Chart and it is afflicted by Natal Mars. Again, signifying that things related to Mars is going to be taken place in this duration.
The Sub-Sub-lord, Venus is the Mulatrikona lord of H6 placed at H12 own by Mars.
Dasa situation described that the Mars affect is going to happen. It is like surgery, operation, accident and so on.
