Here is the Birth Horoscope of a woman born in Owen Sound, Canada, on 21 November 1968 at 7:19 pm
Something important occurred in her life on 3 November 2001 when she was living in London, Canada (42N59, 81W14). It was one of the following five events. Can you determine by astrological means which one it was?
- A long-lost lover reappeared.
- She married.
- She gave birth to a daughter.
- She lost her employment.
- Her home was damaged in a freak storm.

ANSWER
The woman married.
The Harmonic Chart for the woman’s age (above) leads us straight to the answer:
What should strike your eye immediately is the position of Jupiter on the Marriage Cusp.
Planets close to Angles are of paramount importance. Jupiter here points immediately to marriage, and an examination of the Aspect patterns confirms it: Saturn ruling the 10th Cusp trine to the Floating MC and Venus ruling the 7th Cusp in a tight T-square with Fortuna and Uranus (romance). The opposition from Pluto intensifies the mating instinct (though doesn’t guarantee its permanence).
The Test could also be solved by eliminating the four other listed possible events:
A long-lost lover reappeared.
At first sight this appeals because of Venus in a formation with Uranus, Pluto and Fortuna , but to be valid it needs to be supplemented by another factor such as a conjunction of the Ascendant Ruler, Sun or Moon with a planet signifying the lover. Nothing like this appears in the Chart.
She gave birth to a daughter.
Ruled out because there is no involvement of the Moon with the 5th House or its Ruler.
She lost her employment.
Contra-indicated by Saturn ruling the 10th House in close trine to the “floating” MC.
Her home was damaged by a freak storm.
A slight indication is the square of the Moon to Pluto in the 4th House. This would be much stronger if the House positions were reversed, that is, Moon in the 4th square Pluto, or if Pluto was on the 4th Cusp. It is easily over-ruled by the strong marriage indications.

Considering chitrapaksha ayanaamsha, the event falls in Moon/Moon dasha/bhukti. For Gemini Ascendant, the Moon is connected to family life, status and education. Situated in the radical seventh House of marriage, along with Venus significator of love and bed comforts, it can give the wedding when activated. As the Moon is significator of change, it is maybe not her first marriage.
This test is not straightforward though, because the Moon is exchanging mansions with Ketu, and then relates as well to the position of the south node in the Chart. Ketu conjunct fiery Mars in the 4th House of domestic harmony, home and lands could as well give troubles in relation with the home, owned cars, relatives, heart, or even domestic accidents as suggested in the proposition #5. However these kinds of events are more likely to happen when Ketu/Mars are activated from Sept 2002 to Feb 2004.

I have noted that astrologers using Western type Astrology often miss the solution because they have not evaluated the relative power of the different planetary formations. This is determined mostly by configurations having the smallest orbs and placement of the planets on an Angle or a Porphyry intermediate Cusp.
