FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
and
SÉGOLÈNE ROYAL !
May 6 2007 will bring the final phase in the French Presidential Election which this time has been of particular interest because of the twelve candidates, one of whom is the charismatic Ségolène Royal.
The first ballot was held on Sunday April 22 and the turnout has been put at 84% — the highest for nearly 50 years. In this first poll no candidate received more than 50% of the votes, so the top two, Nicholas Sarcozy and Ségolène Royal, will contest a second ballot on May 6. This second round will decide who will be the French President for the next five years.
Sarcozy was well ahead of his rival in the 1st round, receiving 31% of the votes, while Royal received 26%.
Nicholas Sarcozy was born in Paris on January 28, 1955. Ségolène Royal was born in Dakar, Senegal (then a French colony) on September 22, 1953. Neither candidate’s time of birth is known.
It is unfortunate, but a fact, that the great majority of Horoscopes that particularly interest us are not available with an accurate birth time. We have to adopt rectification techniques to contend with this difficulty as best we can.
Nicholas Sarcozy is a lawyer and highly skilled professional politician. His long career has been marked by a steady pursuit of power. Through ambition and hard work he has gained senior ministerial positions and is at present French Minister of the Interior in the Government of Dominique de Villepin, He is conservative and strong on law enforcement. Acting on what information is available an attempt at Rectification has been made and the Chart set for 7:35 am.
Ségolène Royal is the candidate for the French Socialist Party. One of a family of eight children, she has been a member of Parliament for 13 years and is a three-time cabinet minister, having held Portfolios for Environment, Education, Family and Children. She has degrees in Economics and Administration and has authored four books. I have set her Chart for 12:54 pm UT.
Such information as was available for the rectifications of the above two Charts was used but an exhaustive check is not claimed. However, I have sufficient confidence in them to hazard a prediction that Ségolène Royal will win the ballot in spite of the superior number voting for Sarcozy in the first poll. The prediction is based on the following Age Harmonic Chart for each contestant, as at the date of the final ballot, 6th May 2007.
The Sun in the 10th House of Sarcozy’s Harmonic Chart is certainly favourable but it is not supported by any favourable Aspects. Saturn (Sarcozy’s Natal Ruler) conjunct Fortuna is also favorable. However the dominant influence is Venus closely opposite Mars ruling his 10th Cusp and dispositing the Sun. I see this Aspect as denying him success.
Neptune opposing the Sun and the N.Node is adverse in Ségolène Royal’s Harmonic Chart, however, the Sun’s powerful position conjunct the N.Node and the 10th Cusp should overrule this. The close conjunction of Jupiter (ruling the 10th Cusp) with Uranus is a very favourable factor (sudden rise in life).
Hence I predict that Ségolène Royal will become France’s first female President.
POSTSCRIPT !
Sarkozy won – convincingly, by six percentage points. Since writing about the Presidential Election I learned from Francoise Mechri in Canada that the correct birth times for both Royal and Nicholas Sarcozy are 4:10 pm and 10:00 pm, respectively. Here are their Birth Charts and Age Harmonics, quite different from those above.
The relations of the Harmonic Charts to their Radices show that Sarkozy had much superior chances: His Harmonic Chart for the Date of the Election has Fortuna at 25Ge27 very closely conjunct the Natal MC at 25Ge07 (orb only 20'). Ségolène on the other hand has Harmonic Venus at 26Ar29 only 1' away from the opposition of Natal Saturn, 26Li28, ruling the 10th Cusp.
