PREDICTION: PM TONY BLAIR
The Ultimate Test of Astrology is its capacity to make accurate predictions. This is also the most difficult part of the Art and on that account is rarely attempted. However, it behoves every serious astrologer to try his hand at this fascinating skill not only for its intrinsic interest but also for the positive gain in general astrological insight and expertise that it brings. As a medium for advancing one’s proficiency in Astrology it is second only to working on the Tests propounded on this Website.
As an example and a stimulus to hesitant astrologers I offer a prediction regarding Prime Minister Tony Blair that I made on September 10, 2006, on the Angelicus Merlin List. The outcome is awaited, being still unknown at the time of writing (22 January 2007).
In the last quarter of 2006 there was much discussion about what would be the date of Prime Minister Tony Blair’s anticipated step down from the Leadership of the UK Labour party. My assessment was, and still is, 15 June 2007. The manner in which I deduced it is shown below. Whether or not this prediction proves to be correct, it demonstrates a practical method of arriving at a reasonable decision, using what I consider the best astrological tools available.
To start with, here is the Birth Horoscope of Tony Blair.
The next step is to review the Cyclic Charts (Solar Month and Moon/Sun Phase Return) for each month of 2007. The computer sets them up quickly. Careful inspection reveals June as the probable month (see below).
Chart 1: The Moon/Sun Phase Return Chart of 8 June 2007 has Neptune at the Midheaven opposed by Saturn (surrender of position), Uranus in the 10th House square the Sun (change in career) and Pluto opposite the Ascendant (radical change in life).
Chart 2: The Solar Month Chart 6 June 2007 has the Sun in the Midheaven opposed by Jupiter (voluntary abdication) square Uranus (change in career) and the Moon in the 6th House opposed by its Dispositor, Saturn (cessation of normal duties).
Chart 3: The precessed Solar Month Chart 7 June 2007 has Jupiter ruling the 10th House opposing the Sun in the 12th (voluntary abdication) the Sun square Uranus, and Neptune co-ruler of the 10th House Retrograde and opposite Saturn (surrender of position).
The final step is to determine the exact date in June.
Planets’ Stations, Directions and Progressions will often help. In this case we have –
16 Jun 2007, Mercury Stationary at 11Cn17 quincunx the Moon at 11Aq30 in the 10th House.
13 Jun 2007, Saturn (ruling 10th House) Directed conversely by Solar-Arc to 29Le12 square n.Jupiter at 29Ta12.
Age Harmonic Progressed Charts give a comprehensive view of all factors operating on any particular day and so are more reliable and precise. With the Solar Fire Program the Chart for ever day in June can be set up in seconds. The method is:
- Select Tony Blair in the list of Calculated Charts.
- Click on Dynamic, and then Animate Chart.
- Under “Step by” enter 1 Day.
- Under “Events”, enter 1 Jun 2007. (You now see the Day Chart.)
- Click on the Charts tab and move the cursor down to Age Harmonic (NOT Age+1 Harmonic!).
- Click OK. The Age Harmonic Progressed Chart for 1 June 2007 appears.
- For each subsequent day simply click on the forward arrow head.
Examine each Chart to judge its relevance to the event we are predicting. If you want to give special attention to any particular Chart, click on the tab “Export to... calculated charts list”.
Following the above procedure we arrive at the Chart below for June 15, 2007.
There are a number of features of the above Chart that declare its relevance to the timing of Prime Minister Tony Blair in making way for a successor:
- The “floating” MC conjunct the 10th Cusp and trine to Pluto (stepping down from the Leadership).
- The Sun and Moon in conjunction (a new start).
- Neptune square the Vertex (Destiny move – relinquishing the reins of Parliament).
- Pluto square Saturn (loss of power and authority).
- The Part of Fortune conjunct the Ascendant (accent on personal initiative).
So it is a reasonable prediction that Tony Blair will relinquish Office on 15th June 2007.
