NATIONAL FORECASTS
New Method Using the Century Chart and Age Harmonics

The final Issue after 23 years of Astrologers’ Forum in December 2004 introduced a unique and effective technique for forecasting world events. The inadequacies and poor results of current methods in relation to the catastrophic Tsunami of 26 December 2004 in the Indian Ocean led me to investigate the possibilities of using the Century Chart and Age Harmonics.

At the time I queried how we could deal astrologically with an event as cataclysmic as this? The Tsunami killed and injured hundreds of thousands of Indonesians and other nationalities. It was triggered by an earthquake at about 0h59m GMT on 26 December 2004. Setting up a Chart for the time of the occurrence will give us only a further opportunity to wonder at the intimate relationship between things celestial and things terrestrial. What we want is a Chart that will give us forewarning, not just something that we can analyze after the event. We need a starting point—a valid figure from which we can derive subsidiary charts plus Progressions and Directions. Pondering this question I decided to look at the
Chart for the 21st Century—1 Jan 2001, 0:00 GMT Greenwich, England. Here it is:

Only the planets and the Moon’s Nodes are shown, not the Vertex, Part of Fortune and Equatorial Ascendant (which vary with geographic latitude) because this Chart purports to reflect the fortunes of the whole world, not a particular country or region. It is set for Greenwich which lies on the First Meridian.
The closest planetary connection in the Chart and its principal feature is the square from
Mars to Neptune—injury from water.

If now we use this same Chart (and GMT time) set for the geographic coordinates of
Banda Aceh, Indonesia (which suffered most in the Tsunami) and Progress it by Age Harmonics to the date of the event, 26 December, 2004, we get the following Figure:

The Century Chart is now established for a particular location (Banda Aceh) so we add the astrological Points, Vertex, Part of Fortune and Equatorial Ascendant.

The Century Chart featured the powerful Square between Mars and Neptune. Amazingly, the Progressed Planets depict the same energies even further amplified through the same two planets being in very close conjunction.

There are other significant and appropriate changes:

• The Mars/Neptune conjunction now dominates the Chart from the 4th Cusp—watery graves.
• Saturn’s opposition to the Sun, Lord of the 4th House, speaks eloquently of endings.
• The Sun’s square to the Moon—multiple endings.
• The Sun’s quincunx to Jupiter, Lord of the 8th—deaths in great numbers.
• The Sun’s quincunx to Uranus—sudden shock.

The world-shaking calamity of the Tsunami is pinpointed to the very day by the Age Harmonic Progressions. They are listed by the Program as --

This electrifying use of Progression by Age Harmonics is made possible by Esoteric Technologies who have incorporated them in their new Solar Fire Deluxe Program. I am not aware of any other astrological procedure that can give us such precise warning of an impending calamity affecting the world in general. Other methods of Progressing and Directing the Chart are singularly poor in comparison. Those I have tried are Primary Directions, Secondary Progressions (with Transits) and Symbolic Directions by Solar-Arc, Ascendant-Arc and Vertex-Arc. The advent of Age Harmonic Progressions has far-reaching significance. They are revolutionizing Astrology.

Working with the Century Chart the astrologer has to examine the list of Age Harmonic Progressions and interpret them. The interpretation is the hardest part and is best done by setting up a Chart for any Progressed Aspects of major significance. The Program allows us to do this instantly without any tedious entering of data. The Progressed Chart greatly assists interpretation by showing House positions and any other relevant Aspects.

The versatility of this method is illustrated by a number of other major national events in the recent past. In each case the Century Chart is adapted to the geographic coordinates of the place concerned but the original GMT time is retained and not altered to local time. The Charts below refer to

• The train bombings in Madrid on 11 March 2004.
• The Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana in August 2005.
• The underground train bombings in London in July 2005.
• Lebanon: Months July and August 2006.

MADRID TRAIN BOMBINGS

The series of coordinated bombings by terrorists against the commuter train system of Madrid, Spain, on the morning of 11 March 2004 killed 192 people and wounded 2,050. The attacks were the worst militant assault in modern Spanish history. They are well depicted in the Harmonic Chart below, derived from the 21st Century Chart set for Madrid.

• The Sun conjuncts Saturn ruling the 3rd House (transport) and is trine to 3rd-House Uranus (train transport).
• Mars, ruling the Ascendant, is quincunx both the Sun and Saturn and occupies the House of Terminations.
• Pluto signifying Mass, Power and Destruction squares both the Sun and Saturn. It is Co-Ruler of the Ascendant and occupies the House of Deaths, symbolically extinguishing the life force of many—massive killing.
• The Part of Fortune when not signifying wealth simply emphasizes the influence of the planet it contacts, in this case Pluto (destruction and deaths).

HURRICANE KATRINA

The Hurricane which devastated New Orleans and other parts of Lousiana, USA, in August, 2005, has been reckoned one of the deadliest natural disasters in US history. It brought terrific winds and 40-foot waves that by 31 August had flooded 80% of New Orleans to a depth of six metres of water in some parts. The Harmonic Chart below, derived from the 21st Century Chart, is set for New Orleans on August 31, 2005.


In the above Chart,

• Neptune (water) is given extra prominence by its position on the Descendant. It is trine to Pluto (massive flooding).
• Saturn (also prominent on the Angular 4th Cusp) is quincunx Pluto (massive destruction of property and buildings).
• Mars opposite Pluto signifies the violence of the hurricane
• Uranus (suddenness and shock) opposes the Sun ruling the 12th House (misfortune).

THE LONDON UNDERGROUND BOMBINGS

On 7 July 2005, fifty-two people were killed and about 700 injured when terrorists exploded three bombs in crowded underground trains. This was the deadliest single act of terrorism in the United Kingdom since the 1988 Lockerbie bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 which killed 270.

The Chart below is the 21st Century Chart set for London, UK.

The Sun, Chart Ruler, occupies the 3rd House (transport) trine to Pluto (mass of travellers). Saturn and Mars are opposed by Pluto (many deaths). Venus on the MC, Ruler of the 3rd House, forms a Yod with the Sun and Saturn plus a close semi-sextile to Pluto. With the admixture to Venus of its close hard Aspects to Natal Mars and Neptune in the 21st Century Chart it confronts the authorities with an ugly and evil transport situation.

LEBANON, INVASION JULY 2006

This last segment illustrates a way of gauging the fortunes of a nation, month by month. The two Harmonic Charts following are drawn from the 21st Century Chart shown at the beginning of this Instalment and are set for Beirut, the Capital of Lebanon, to show the fortunes of the whole country in the two months July and August, 2006. The date for each Chart is the 1st of the month.

During July 2006, Lebanon was invaded by Israel. In the following month, August, a ceasefire was arranged through the efforts of United Nations. These two principal events of each month are clearly shown in the Charts.


The dominating feature of the July Chart is the Sun conjunct Mars, both trine to Jupiter. The Sun rules the Ascendant and Mars rules the 9th House (foreign countries). Lebanon was invaded by Israel.

For a Nation going to war, this is a portrayal as close as we are ever going to get in a Chart.

In the August Chart the above martial configuration has disappeared and the dominating configuration now is clearly one of peace – Venus conjunct the Floating MC and in a Grand Trine with the Moon and Neptune.

The actual dates of the two events were

July 12, 2006: Israel invaded Lebanon.

August 15, 2006: Ceasefire implemented.

These two dates could easily be found by consulting the List of Age Harmonic Progressions produced by the Solar Fire Program:

12 July 2006, Moon opposite Saturn, across the 1st-7th axis of the July Month Chart. Saturn rules the 7th House – the enemy.


14 August 2006, Mercury trine Venus, in the August Month Chart. Mercury rules the 11th House (United Nations discussion) and Venus rules the 10th House (the desired objective).
15 August 2006, Venus square Saturn, Saturn ruling the 7th House: A troubled peace—early violation by Israel.

It is apparent from the demonstrations above that this is a powerful technique for national forecasts. Try it yourself. The astrological community needs more astrologers doing predictive work. First make yourself thoroughly conversant with the method by replicating the above Charts on your own computer. Of course you will need Solar Fire Deluxe the only Program at present that gives Harmonic Progressions as well as instant Harmonic Charts for any date and time.
