Flask Lists

Our aim is to provide quality flasks of desirable species and hybrids from Australasia. Our collection of orchid species from the region, particularly from New Guinea and the islands is extensive and would rank in the top five of such specialist collections in Australia. Many of the species offered in the catalogue have been selectively bred from plants in the collection, are very rare in cultivation and are probably offered for the first time as artificially propagated material. Other seed has been obtained from specialist growers throughout the Pacific and in the United States.

Our hybrid offerings are, in the main, bred from our own stud plants. However, we will shortly we will be offering a limited number and quantity of hybrid crosses created by the late Sid Batchelor of YONDI. Sid was renowned throughout the orchid world for his breeding of champion Australian Native Orchid hybrids and line-bred species.

The popularity of Dockrillia species and hybrids continues to increase so we are offering flasks of superior species forms and the results of our own hybridising efforts. The genus Dockrillia includes those species formerly identified as those belonging to Section Rhizobium of Dendrobium and are the 'rat-tailed' or 'terete-leafed' orchids.

Hybrid expectations are given as guide only as some crosses can produce surprises, which is part of the fun.

All flasks contain from 20-25 seedlings unless otherwise specified. The flasks are 375mm capacity glass jars with a translucent screw-on plastic lid with a stick-on teflon breather patch. Prices vary and are as indicated for each cross. For ordering information click here or follow the link via the Contact Us button at the top left of this page to the Ordering Info. page.
