HHRFC Management Role Descriptions

CLUB COACH:

The Club coach co-ordinates all the coaching staff. He is responsible for the overall club playing strategy and chairs the selection panel. The Club coach is responsible to the committee.

GRADE COACH:

The Grade coaches are responsible to the Club coach for the implementation of the club and agreed team playing strategy. They are responsible for team and individual player development and skills. The Grade coach sits on the selection panel and is responsible to the Club coach.

TEAM MANAGER:

The team manager is responsible to the Grade coach for the management of the side, including playing and training gear, medical, social, and communication issues. The team manager is also responsible to the Team Manager Co-ordinator for the team administration including, financial, player registration, and club property management.

CLUB CAPTAIN

The Club Captain represents the players at official match functions and at selection. The Club Captain is responsible for player communication, enquiries and complaints.

The Club Captain is elected by the players the week prior to the first rostered game.

CLUB TRAINER:

The Club trainer is responsible to the Club Coach for the design and management of the seasons fitness and development programs. The Club trainer is a professional that is engaged by and paid for by the Club.

CLUB PHYSIOTHERAPIST:

The Club Physio is responsible to the Vice President football for the provision of physiotherapy services at training and on game day. The Club Physio is an honorary position and there is no charge unless you are required to visit his rooms. The cost of such visits are to be met by the individual.

EMPLOYMENT:

The club has an employment officer who is responsible to the Vice President Football.

The employment officer liases with sponsors, employers and employees and is responsible for obtaining jobs for players.

 

OVERSEAS, INTERSTATE & COUNTRY PLAYERS:

The club from time to time enters into exchange programs or fields requests from players visiting Sydney who wish to play rugby. All requests are considered and if the player is deemed suitable the club will provide the following facilities as a matter of policy.

Employment - Subject to the candidates skills and needs.

Accommodation - One month free in a club property. Rental and utilities after this period are then the responsibility of the player.

A member of the 'buddy program' to ensure that the player settles in and is introduced to the Club and relevant social programs.

From time to time for exceptional players we may receive a request for air fare subsidisation. The club has a strict policy not to provide airfare support unless:

(a.) An individual sponsor agrees to subsidise these airfares outside normal sponsorship

(b.) The committee decides to advance funds to the player on the basis of a wage garnishee on his arrival.
