Hunters Hill trip to Coolangatta

35 Hunters Hill Golden Oldies travelled to sunny Queensland last week to play Brunswick Heads. Some notable memories were:-

The appearance of another furry friend Kev the Koala, One pair of souvenired undies?, General Meeting for shagger, Muggsey tackling the footpath, Ralf the Bong off the air, Virgin Airways, Test match Australia won

The game as predicted ended in a 17 all draw with both sides playing running rugby. In a controversial move the referee send John Hibbert off twice in same game for throwing the ball at him and trying too hard.

Did you know........

Hunters Hill Rugby is 110 years old one of the oldest rugby clubs in Australia. There is a strong Junior and Golden Oldies part of Hunters Hill which involves a whole range of ages from the community.

Check out the club successes at our full history.

So you think you know the Laws......

Question 1 :If a player is standing with one foot on the Side line and the other foot in the field of play, a ball is kicked by the opposition, outside their 22m, and the player catches the ball on the full

Where is the Lineout and who throws the ball in?

Question 2: If a mark is taken 10 meters inside the In Goal, where is the ball kicked from and where should the opposing side stand?

Question 3: Can a try be scored by a player standing in touch-in-goal, not carrying the ball, and he grounds the ball, which is on the ground in-goal, with his hand?

The answers are at the end of the newsletter.

For his attitude on and off the field Dan Moore follows the club motto Facta non Verba - deeds not words.

Chris Atkins for being selected as Captain of the Sub District Rep Team. A great honour - Chris is deserving of the position as he adopts a professional approach to his game and training.

Dave Peacock has been a loyal club member for years, he plays where selected, doesnt complain, supports the coaches and provided feedback to assist with club moral.

Coaches details:

Please ensure you contact your coach before Tuesday night if you not playing.

Revue Revue Revue Revue Revue Revue

The Revues run by club stalwart John Hibbert were a great success with over 500 people attending over the two nights ñas the saying goes 'age shall not weary them nor the years condemn'. Although they have doing the revues for over 15 years the acting ability continues to remain the same?

It was good to see Russell Kershler have the opportunity to once again have the opportunity to dress up as a girl. Like most props Russell needs this release to keep out of Jail.
